QUICSEAL 510GG Grout is a single-component, ready to use gun-grade non-shrink grout specially formulated to suit various purposes, especially for window joint grouting. It is easy to use and only addition of water to produce a non-sag, non-shrink grout.

Advantages

  • Single-component - economical and easy to use
  • Non-sag formulation – easy to use for vertical applications
  • Non-corrosive and non-staining - no corrosion to rebar and staining
  • Good resistance to water penetration
  • Excellent adhesion to concrete and window frame

Uses

QUICSEAL 510GG can be used in the following applications:

  • Grouting gaps in window joint gaps using grouting gun for width between 15 and 70mm
  • Small patch repairs, especially for vertical and overhead application

Application

Surface Preparation

All surfaces and window frames must be clean and sound and free from all surface laitance, oil and grease. All defective concrete should be removed till sound concrete is detected.

The substrate should be dampened with water or for better performance, primed with QUICSEAL 607 bonding agent or QUICSEAL 608 + Ordinary Portland Cement (mixing ratio 1:1.5) adhesive slurry.

Mixing

Place approximately 4.5 to 5 litres of clean water into a clean container. Slowly add the contents of QUICSEAL 510GG (powder) and mix with a slow speed drill fitted with a paddle type mixer blade for about 3 to 5 minutes until a homogeneous and lump-free consistency is obtained. Surface is ready to receive skim coat after 4 days.

Installation

For grouting of gaps in window joints, load the grout into an appropriate grouting gun immediately after mixing and apply to the grout joint.

For concrete repairs

Where applicable, saw cut the repair locations to a depth of at least 10 mm to provide a square edge and to avoid feather-edging. Break out the complete repair area to a minimum depth of 10 mm up to the sawn edge.

Expose fully any corroded steel in the repair area and remove all loose scale and corrosion deposits by using hand held grinding tools. Steel and window frames should be free from contaminants and any foreign matters that may inhibit adhesion.

Curing

It is essential to allow QUICSEAL 510GG to cure naturally in ambient conditions. It is highly recommended to prevent QUICSEAL 510GG against rapid drying due to strong wind and direct sunlight or high temperature by applying QUICSEAL 507 Cure-Shield WB curing compound to reduce premature water loss. Apply curing compound only on finished surface but not on intermediate layers. Alternatively, the water mist method can be used to moisten the surface to prevent premature water loss.

Packaging

QUICSEAL 510GG is supplied in 25kg bags.

Storage

Store in a sheltered, cool, dry place, protected from rain and sunlight and extreme temperatures. QUICSEAL 510GG has a shelf life of 12 months when stored as stated in its original packaging.

Yield Per Bag

12.0 – 13.5 Liters (0.012 – 0.0135m3)

Health & Safety
