Quicseal 601H

Quicseal 601H

Origin: Singapore

Price: 380,000đ

QUICSEAL 601H Tilebond Flex H is a grey or white powder adhesive composed of cement, graded fine sand, synthetic resins and specially formulated additives to be mixed with water  as a thin-set tile adhesive with very good adhesion strength.

When cured, QUICSEAL 601H is water resistant and has excellent thixotropic and shrinkage control properties.

Classification

EN 12004: C2TE

Typical Uses

QUICSEAL 601H is suitable for bonding ceramic tiles, quarry tiles, klinker, mosaics, natural stones, etc. on:

  • both wall and floor
  • internal and external areas
  • conventional cement-sand screeds and renders
  • gypsum board and plywood which are firmly fixed
  • existing tiled surface.

      Limitations

Do not use QUICSEAL 601H to:

  • bond tiles on walls subjected to extreme flexing and vibration (such as very thin plywood and gypsum board walls). Use QUICSEAL 605 MULTIPURPOSE PASTE or QUICSEAL 606 TILEFLEX.
  • bond tiles on metal surfaces or bond moisture sensitive stones. Use QUICSEAL 612 TILEPOXY.

     Substrate Preparation

The substrates must be levelled, clean and sound, free of dust and loose particles. Laitance, oil, grease, mould release agents or curing compound must be removed from concrete surfaces by using wire brush, scabbler or other means.

Extremely porous and powdery substrates (e.g. gypsum or prefabricated plaster panels, etc.) should be treated with QUICSEAL 113 PRIMER C before laying tiles with QUICSEAL 601H adhesive.

It is advisable to allow screeds and renders to cure for at least 7 days and surfaces which have become heated from exposure to direct sunlight should be dampened with water to prevent premature curing.

Mixing Instructions

Pour  5.75 – 6.25 litres of water into a clean container. Slowly add 25 kg of QUICSEAL 601H and mix with a slow speed mechanical mixer until homogenous and lump free paste is obtained.  Allow the mix to stand for 5 minutes and re-stir before use.

Application

To achieve good adhesion, firstly apply a thin coat of QUICSEAL 601H adhesive firmly onto the substrate using the straight edge of the trowel followed immediately with the appropriate amount of adhesive with the notch side to achieve the required thickness. The correct notched trowel size to use will depend on the type and size of the tiles.

For large sized tiles and tiles with lugs and grooves, apply a coat of QUICSEAL 601H adhesive to the back of the tiles to ensure sufficient coverage when laid.

Lay the tiles onto the adhesive and ensure that a firm pressure is applied to achieve good contact with the adhesive.

Unfavourable climatic conditions such as strong sunlight, wind and high temperature, etc. and very porous substrates may reduce the open time of the adhesive. Hence, careful checks  have to be made to ensure that skinning does not occur on the surface of the adhesive before laying the tiles.  If a skinning has occurred, rework the adhesive before laying the tiles.

The tiles must be adjusted within 15 minutes after laying and must be protected from rain or strong sun for at least 24 hours.

For thin bed installations

Tile joints can be grouted usually 6 to 8 hours after laying the tiles

For thick bed installations

Tile joints can be grouted approximately 24 hours after laying the tiles, depending on the absorbency.

Cleaning

All tools and hands may be cleaned with abundant water before the adhesive sets. After setting, cleaning becomes very difficult but can usually be helped by mechanical means.

Coverage

Approximate 1.6kg per mper 1mm thick

The coverage is determined by the condition of the substrate.
